I wondered if anyone has had any experience of using the online system to put their Reg plate on retention?

I did this on Sunday and whilst I have received the retention certificate I haven’t received the V5C yet. It said it would take 3-5 working days (I think). Has anyone done this?

I have a finely planned handover with old and new car-and the new owners old car (luckily all in the family) so hopefully it will turn up today (or tomorrow ) [emoji15][emoji15][emoji15]

I wasn’t expecting the new car to be ready to collect within a week! [emoji15]

Hi, I used this service a few weeks ago after selling my Defender to a dealer. Very easy to do and the new V5 arrived in the post on the Saturday after doing the online application on the preceding Wednesday morning. The number plate authorisation was part of the online procedure and was duly printed off. The V778 retention document for my reg' number took a bit longer to arrive.

I was about to say three to five days by DVLA standards is up to a month but you're sorted. ;)
