Quick question:

There is a small spring type, black plastic 'L'-shaped thing to be fitted on the metal assembly on the steering wheel beofre the airbag goes on. Im not 100%sure where/how this should be fitted (should have remembered/photographed it i guess).

If i upload i pic later would someone be able to help?

thanks

Ok, i took some snaps of the airbag and inflator assembly.

Fig 1 shows where i think the pin from fig 5 should go (highlighted in yellow)

Fig 2 shows the plastic arm i was speakin about with the spring. This seems to want to go to the right (in direction of red arrow) and being finally held by the pin from fig 5

Figs 3 and 4 shows the pin on back of airbag (highlighted in red & yellow respectively) - does this go through the black plastic arm into the hole (from fig 2)?

Finally, how do you insert the inflator (fig 6) into the airbag. It seems to want to simply push inside it. Is this ok to push inside ? It means the pin will locate properly into the inflator assembly and thereafter into the hole from fig 1

hopes this makes sense. Is it an easy enough job? Or should i just either leave the inflator out or go to dealership (im covered with Life assurance if i were to crash anyway!!)
many thanks guys

does anyone have any idea how this should be re-fitted ?

Can the airbag still "go off" with battery disconnected?

thanks

plenty members seem to have swapped steering wheels (non airbag), has nobody swapped back ?

Re: Refitting the Airbag (Seicento Non-electrical airbag)

DONE IT ! (finally)

The small black "L-shaped" plastic springy thing sits in its place (you'll note that it can only go one way) inside the steering wheel column against the metal. Next line-up and screw in the round plastic inflator holder (held in by 3 screws) and then when you slot in and rotate the gas inflator device clockwise against this, (it will then click into place) and BINGO! the holes line up at the top - allowing the airbag and the metal pin to slot into it.

Remember to disconnect the battery before you do it or you'll get the light coming on and need a dealer reset.

(Alternatively, don't ever bother fiddling with the airbag!!!!:D)

*** REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY FOR THE NON ELECTRICAL AIRBAG SEICENTO MODEL ***

Hope this helps others in future.

Mikey
