Re: Re: Red Key price

Everyone says £800, but check out http://www.codeman.org/fiat.html

These guys recon they can replace it for £170.

(wouldn't know from experience, but someone gave me the link when my bro bought an HGT without the red key. We havent tried them out yet)

Re: Re: Re: Red Key price

Thats just programming a new key by the sounds of it. Not a true replacement red key.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Red Key price

His service is re-programming the ECU with a new CODE for the Red Key...

BUT and it's a BIG BUT...

It says on his site to check if your ECU is programable BEFORE sending it to him to do. He gives a list of the ECU models he can do and you have to check against it.

Didn't Nige say he couldn't tune the petrol Bravo/a's because the ECU is not programable ?

Anyone know enough about the ECU's in the Bravo/a range to know if it's programable or not ?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Red Key price

Nige was reffering to the fuel and ignition maps, not the key codes.

Still, I always thought the red key was permenantly burnt into the ECU as a security thing.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Red Key price

I bought a Punto without a red key ages ago from carcraft ( rip offs) and when the engine ecu went tits up, it cost me a total of £830 for a new red key, new ecu, new ignition barrel and door locks etc
