I have an 56 Doblo 1.9 120hp which is intermittently showing the fault "c-can line error" when plugged in to ecuscan.
Problem is, when this fault is present, it prevents the DPF regenerating so whenever a regen is 'due', the engine goes into limp mode and the engine failure light comes on. This typically occurs just as you get on a motorway...
If I can get rid of the c-can line error, I'm pretty sure the DPF will look after itself. I removed it and cleaned it out about a fortnight ago and it has been fine since, completing 5 regens of decent durations and was showing 20% clogged when I last checked, but now the c-can line error is back and it won't regen.
Any ideas where to look for the error ? Am I correct in thinking it relates to the diagnostic circuit ? I have played with the connector to the ignition key receiver and also applied contact cleaner to every multi-plug I can get to under the dash and in the engine bay, and the fault disappeared but it might be coincidence ? I have no idea where I should be looking specifically.
Rarely, I also get a fault code relating to the key not being present (stored fault, never present), and LOTS of bulb warnings/bulbs working intermittently, usually just before engine light comes on !
I think the code is P1601, but thats from memory.
Any insight welcome !
