Technical Recommended USB charger (2ports)?

Don't think I'm gonna get much of a response but here's to trying.

I need one of these:

Trouble is the one I've bought doesn't fit in the 500's lighter I mean it doesn't go in far enough. Has anyone got one they can confirm that works?

This is a very common problem unfortunately. Curse the 500's shallow cigarette socket!

Here in Australia, I've found that all the Super Cheap Auto (SCA) ones don't fit -- they're too "long", as you've found, so the metal side pins are too high up and don't make contact in the shallow socket. I then happened to see a Dolphin Essentials dual-USB + 12V adapter on sale at my local Woolies supermarket for $5 and that fit perfectly. It's now powering my TomTom Go 500 plus my front and rear dash cams.

So it seems to be the luck of the draw -- if in doubt, ask if you can borrow one to test.

I seem to remember that the housings for cars not specified with the Smoking Option were shallower. Did your car come with a cigarette lighter or and plastic ashtray thingy?

My 500C Lounge came with the cigarette lighter plug as well as the cylindrical ashtray that slots into the cup holder slot. The 12V cigarette socket is shallower than on other cars like my father's Corolla.
