Hi, I want to get a spare ignition key cut, as knowing my luck I’ll lose the only one I have. It is the original Fiat one with a number H45 on the top. Any recommendations of a place (preferably UK online order?) which can do that?
Thanks
Nick

Hi Nick, Any professional locksmith should be able to both supply a key blank and cut it to match. (y)

Do you have a "Timpsons" shop/booth in your area? They are often attached to a large Sainsburys or Tesco. When I got my car, it had only 1 Ignition key and 1 door key---they were able to find me matching blanks (well, very nearly) from their stock of old keys and made me up a couple of each type of key. They were not perfect (the key blank is unique to Fiat it seems) but if my original keys break/get lost they will do perfectly adequately.

or alternatively, if you have a bowl of random keys there's bound to be one that works:)

My previous 500 was delivered to me on the back of a truck. The driver handed me the keys and I unlocked the car and turned on the ignition and drove it off the truck and into my driveway. The truck drove another 4 hours to drop off a Cadillac that was also on the truck. Unfortunately the keys he had given me were for the Caddy which refused to be unlocked and started using my Fiat keys. I overnighted the keys to him and rummaged through a pile of old keys at home and found numerous examples that worked on the 500:eek:

Thanks all. Yes, I tried Timpson, but they said they didn’t have anything that worked. Will keep looking...

Hi Nick, Your Timpson branch is full of s**t !!!!! I had the same problem and my local Timpson ordered the correct blanks and then cut them to suit ????(y)(y)
Find another branch and take your business there (y)(y)
Very shoddy service indeed :mad::mad:
Ian.

Thanks. There’s a bigger branch nearby I will try, and it’s useful to know they can order the blanks in. Thanks fo your help. Nick

Exactly what you first asked for in this link Excellent service when I ordered door keys and I only had the lock number which is stamped internally.

Ordered from Keysinthepost.com. Gave them key number and uploaded photo. Key arrived on Wednesday, works perfectly. Recommended. Thanks for the suggestion
