I am at my wits end with the Cinq. Hundreds of pounds down the line, once again the thing has failed the MOT in spectacular fashion with probably the worst emissions results the garage had ever seen. They were not very forthcoming with a way of resolving this as the car is far from standard, so I need the services of someone who knows where their **** is at with regards to tuning in the West Midlands. Any recommendations for a rolling road in the West Midlands who will go that extra mile to help me get this thing running right once and for all.

Sorry don't recognise your name. What's your car? :).
What's the mods and what management are you running?

Done the usual Italian tune up and put then got them to do the test?
Get a multimeter on the lambda and check it's working correctly?
Why sink money in to a mapping session on a rolling road?

However if you've tried all that and still want to go to a RR.
Where abouts in the West Midlands are you?
Whitz went to Bailey Performance in Telford I believe to get his Cinq mapped when it was a 1368 n/a with the 18FD ecu

The car is fitted with the 1242 16v . A Marea TB, a 4 branch and an induction sysytem. It has the standard Punto Sporting ECU.

The MOT station left me at a complete loss, no indication whatsoever of where to start looking to cure it.

I'll check the Lambda sensor, it certainly won't hurt.

<snip>.

You have just learned that you can't just throw a random bunch of "performance" parts on an engine and expect it to work properly.
First you need to to make sure all the sensors are working properly and that you have not damaged the catalyst with over-fuelling. Then you need to get a custom map made for the car. This will require a rolling road. It's going to cost more money

Wise words! Maybe I should post a message on a Fiat Forum for recommendations for a rolling road

Oh dear
is this the car you were using at Curborough next Sunday?
I hope you get it done in time. hoping to see what you had done to it.

It did fail on the emissions and not being road legal yet it hasn't done more than 16 miles in this setup.

Yeah its a problem with ecu's. My x1/9 with Bosch fuel injection backfires on the overrun for 50 miles when the ecu is reset. No idea how a cat converter would survive? Lucky it doesn't need emissions test ?
