Hi, I have a 2012 2.3 150BHp Ducato motorhome.

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced OBD reader which works Would prefer a plug in type as opposed to a lapttop version Have tried the MS300 from amazon, but kept returning link error.

Thanks in advance for the help

What do you want to use it for? A laptop based system like Multiecuscan does SO much more than a self contained code reader. Apart from giving model specific information on fault codes it allows you to monitor parameters like fuel pressure and airflow, staus of sensors and switches, actuate valves, pumps, light etc, reset sevice counters and learned parameters and carry out proccedures like Proxi alignment. If you are doing your own servicing and repairs it's well worth the slight hassle of needing a laptop (an old windows XP one will work fine and can be picked up for next to nothing).

How much is the software and cable - where can i get them from Will it work with Win 10 laptop>

Hi,
I use Multiecuscan
http://www.multiecuscan.com/
You can download it and use some functions free of charge. You can also click "simulate" rather than "connect" and have a play without an interface or car connected. For the Ducato you need to register to use most functions, this cost 50 Euros around £30. A Windows 10 laptop will work fine with Multiecuscan. For a lead get a ELM 327 USB type that is listed as modified. Cost is about £15 e.g. ebay item 271275445368. You can get one from China for £5 but you need to modify it by removing a 120 ohm resistor.
Download the software and have a play before you register it.

Thanks for above. I have downloaded software and bought the modified Multi ECU scan as shown above. I have not registered the software yet.

I have a 2013 Fiat Ducato motorhome with the 2.3 150bhp engine. When selecting the vehicle variant, do I select Ducato (type 250) 2.3 multijet OR Ducato (Type 250) facelift 2.3 mulitjet.

Thanks

Nigel
