Hi All
My (2009, 60k) Bravo has no drive to the recirc flap in the climate control. After driving a steamy car for a few weeks I got some great help here and figured the problem is the drive gear sheared (the recirc flap in the inlet is loose with no drive).
I've now put a long screw down from the top of the housing to fix the flap open so the problem has gone away. The other flaps all seem to be working OK at this time.
I was wondering if anyone has actually replaced that top gear for the recirc flap which is apparently a dash-out job. Would be good to have it working for the summer to chill the car down quicker.
If so, is it necessary to disconnect the aircon? I don't mind a long job, but we're in the middle of nowhere so getting the aircon emptied/filled is not so easy.
Thanks Stuart

This is very common - the cogs are made of plastic and break very easily. Unfortuantely it's a dash-out job to replace them. If you're close to Southampton I'd suggest booking in with burrowsdeano - he's done loads and will sort you out for £150. I know I will if (or most likely when) ours breaks :)

This thread has more info on the issue.

Thanks for thread etc with more info. It's working OK for now so expect I'll leave it till something else breaks or the weather's warmer then check them all out. We're not in a good position here (in the Fens) - nearest Fiat agent is about an hour each way just to pick up parts. May make more sense to take a day out to get it fixed in Soton.
Stuart
