General Rear wiper coming on when brake pedal pressed

Hi all

As title suggests 09 1.3 qubo with 57k on clock, when front wipers are on and you press brake pedal rear wiper starts to work, any suggestions what could be up.
Many thanks for any replies.

Sounds like an unintended 'extra'!

Maybe try the reboot method of disconnecting the battery live for a minute or so and see if that clears it.

A word of advice/caution/warning though (it's none of those really). When I did this for removal of steering wheel for the trial (and failed) fit of the cruise stalk (complete assembly) I noticed when driving later that the window up 'memory' had been lost. Down too I think. I was going to write to the forum to ask how to get it back but one day when the windows were really wet with rain I put them both down to clear the water and on raising again I happened to hold onto the switches for a few seconds and that restored the single-touch-non-stop memory back again. Result!

The rear wiper should only work without your input when the front wiper is on intermittent or 'on' and you engage reverse. It's also the only time it will work continuously too - otherwise it will just wipe every other time the front ones go.

One other thing whilst I'm on..I finally fitted the rear mudflaps on Sunday and yesterday was heavy rain and it made quite a difference to the amount of water on the back window - much reduced.
