Does it have Disc brakes on the rear?

If so it may be a sticking caliper, I never had much success freeing them off, the piston or cylinder are usually pitted / rusted / scored so a replacement known good caliper is the best option.

If it has drum brakes on the back simple adjustment of the shoes and Handbrake may fix it.

Try adjusting the nylon nut under handbrake to release a bit of tension, if that doesn't work...the it could be seized shoe piston about £10 part or worse the self adjusters are knackered at £25 each...

one of my rear wheels sticks on every turn
I presume you mean it spins freely, then goes 'tight' at the same point in each revolution?
Could either be a warped drum, or just a build-up of debris (brake dust/dirt/rust).
It's not unknown for a small stone or bit of grit to get into a drum either.

Whip it off and have a good look at the shoes and drum internal surface.
Drum Brake servicing
Thankfully, drums and shoes are reasonably cheap.
You should be able to pick up a new pair for around £45 or so.

If you're going to do it yourself, once the drum's off, take a couple of pictures of the insides, so you can see how it all goes together again.

Thank you, and the last piece of info will no doubt be invaluable... ;)

and yes that is exactly what I mean, it spins then stops at the same place every turn (y)

Drums (and the shoes within) do tend to get neglected (out of sight, out of mind).
With discs, a quick look through the wheel will reveal the pad wear and disc condition.
Mind you, I wish mine had drums and not discs, just for the handbrake reliability...

Actually I wonder if it is something to do with all this, my handbrake cable was hanging loose (several clips had come off and i could hear it rubbing against the wheel when cornering ) but is now "safely" cable tied back on and my partner at the time (very conveniently a mechanic ;)) mentioned something had come slightly out and it makes a clicking noise when i put handbrake on and let go of the lever...

Hoping to get a chance to have a look this weekend...
