Been having a right nightmare changing my interior. You know when you start a job and then you realise it would have been better not to have, well that was today.

The rear anchor mounts (bottom of the belt) seem to be welded in with superman glue. I managed to prize one undone with a serious amount of brute force but the other seems to have gone crack and now rotates without undoing or tightening up. Joy.

Anyone else have this issue?

I noticed that on the one bolt I did get off, the thread had a dried blue paste inside it. Is that some sort of anti-friction material?

Oh and to top it off, I managed to break the passenger door carpet plastic trim. Another joy.

As it is, the car now has 2 front seats and 1 rear panel card fitted. 3 cards and rear seat to go! :(

The 'blue paste' is a type of threadlock to stop vital fixings coming loose/undone with years of use/vibration/wear/heat whatever.

Hmm. Well its declared itself as my new nemesis!

the blue paste will be threadlock. get it a lot in the bicycle industry, stops bolts coming undone. As for spinning without coming undone. you may have snapped off a, how to say, riveted fixing, as the metal is not too thick, its a bit of a weird thing to explain. but imagine a rivet but with a thread down the middle, you can get replacements from most hardware stores. but id ask me when im more sober.

Sorted. Back seats and door cards are now in.

What a total nightmare. The coupe seats were a million times easier to replace.

Hey ho.

Just have the front door cards left, but they can wait til next weekend!

Have to say they grey really suits the car - seems to blend in rather well with the silver external paint. Sounds odd I know :)
