Hi,

Our 1.2 Sport arrives on 1st September :) it was a car 'in the system' and doesn't have the rear head rests. I can't find these on acessory websites - can they be ordered from Fiat parts - any idea of part numbers / price?

I presume the seats will have holes for them to fit?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I didn't see any 'holes', at the top of the back seat, for the headrests.

:( Could anyone check their Sport with no headrests for the holes? Maybe they have plastic caps covering them that pull off?

Thanks

I have the rear headrests in my Pop (they were an option) but for my next 500 I have not specified them.

The childrens seats don't fit with the headrests & also if you have any rear seat passenger they will invariably raise the headrests as they are too low when down. This then means that you have to push them down again when your rear passengers have disembarked as the are distracting when up.

Ive had to do that with my last 3 cars. Its a pain, but I suppose it depends how often you have passengers in the rear.

Ive spec'ed my 500 with the split seats and head restraints, simply because I think I'd miss the split seat with such a small boot.

I have to do the same, the worst was when I got onto the M5 and then noticed that the speed limit bleep was set to 80* and the rear headrest was still up on one side. I had to pull into the nearest service station and sort them out.

*Not that I ever went over 80. Strictly 70 for me.:p

The child seats DO fit if headrests are fitted on the rear seats as we tried our child seat in the demonstrator that had the rear head rests in.

we have 2 child seats in ours the head rest-raints dont get in the way. if you realy wanted them a car re-trimmer could retrofit some, or order a new backrest with holes for them, could be expensive either way though

I find it hard to believe that Fiat can supply cars without rear head restraints in 2008.

As someone else already pointed out - they are a safety feature rather than a comfort feature.

There is your new car.......7 airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners, ESP, ABS, etc. etc...........oh, and no rear head restraints!!!!!!!!!!!!

So long as the car is supplied with them in the first place you can always take them out when using kids seats and put them back in with full size passengers. They will thank you for it if you are unfortunate enough to get rear-ended.

Have somepeople had do remove them to improve rear visability out of the rear window at all aout of interest?

Jon.

Jon, whenever there are no rear passengers I always move them down as far as they go and then, due to a sensible design, they do not affect rear vision.
On most cars the rear head rests are sit on top of the backrests but on the 500 they slide down in front of the cushion so only a very small part remains above the level of the seatback. (y)

Thanks for everyone's input - looks like we will be without head rests/restraints! Not long till we pick it up now :D
