Rear End - Well I think it's the Rear End - makes a 'Clunking noise'
When the Rear End is off the ground, the 'Clunking noise seems to disappear.

I am not driving the car due to this problem. Could it be the Driveshaft ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live in New York and I'm probably the only one within 50 miles driving a FIAT. Not able to find any mechanics in the area that will work on my Car.

Thanks in Advance,

Joe

Could be a driveshaft joint thats loose, try putting the car in the air but with the suspension bearing the weight of the car, stands under the uprights or similar, this assumes an Abarth rear end.

If its an axle, it could be the arm bushes worn allowing the axle to twist slightly under power. When the suspension is dropped it tightens all the bushes up.

Again lift the car and support the axle on axles stands and see hwether you can move any of the arms including the panhard rod.

In both cases it could be the propshaft joint.

Cheers
