Hi.

My 2012 has been nice and quiet with all hinges.

Rear door doesnt get much use.. behind uk drivers seat.

It made a horrendous screech today.. it appears to be the 'tongue' checkstrap..

As WD40 was in the footwell I speayed into the door.. along the checkstrap..

And hinges for good measure..

SO LOUD.. I didnt want to keep moving it.. warm day with sun on that door.

Might try in early morning when its all cold.

Anybody got experience on the grande of this?

My 2007 GPs are 3 door.. ;)

Cheers. Charlie

Yes, that's a typical problem in Grandes, when hot. Old, well known problem.
Why are you surprised?
Classic, petroleum based lubricants are not compatible with plastics/rubber in the door limiters/check-straps.
Try synthetic, for example silicon based lubricant. Or PTFE ("Teflon") high content, wet or dry version.

Rear door behind drivers

Had some GT85 Spray nearby

Sprayed hinges on all 4 doors.. and Extra on the checkstraps ;)

Its MADE IT WORSE ..!! :(

Im sure its temp related

Will have to work it a bit as the doors cool this evening.. or opening at 01:00 wont be popular
