I think this has been partly covered before but I cannot see a complete answer to what I think I may have done.
Changing rear discs and pads I found rear nearside caliper seized - all the effort being made by the offside set, strangely didn't feel any pulling on braking - ah well....
Replacement caliper ordered, so piston already fully wound back, set up with carrier and pads, then to get handbrake cable in I pushed the lever back to clip the nipple over the lever arm slot but succeeded in pushing the piston out. Can't now wind it back with the tool. Have heard/read that if the adjuster over-extends like this, that it means another caliper as it is jammed and cannot be un-jammed?! Is this true?? Reference was made in another posting to a five sided nut on the caliper - can this be used to release the adjuster??
I cannot find an exploded diagram for the internals of the caliper and piston, but know there is a threaded screw inside the piston....mightily perplexed and do not want another £ton£ on my card for another caliper...HELP :bang:
