Hi,

I purchased a 2012 Qubo a couple of months ago and would like to attach a rear bumper protector to cover some slight damage to the paint work. However the gap between the bottom of the rear door and the bumper is too small. The bottom of the door actually touches the top of the bumper. Is it possible to lower the bumper slightly (by about 2mm)? and if so how is the bumper attached to the car?

Thanks in advance.

Hi
First off the rear door should be at least 5mm away from the top of the bumper.
Having removed a rear bumper before there is no up and down adjustment only a bit of side to side.
You can however raise the door slight winch may give you the clearance you need.
What sort of protector was you thinking of getting, there are three sorts that I've seen, stainless steel 1.5mm thick, plastic about 2mm thick and the vinyl one in clear or colours.

Thanks Luigi, you've saved me the hassle of removing the bumper! Is it easy to raise the door? It could probably go up a few mm. Haven't decided yet on the type of protector. The car is silver so not sure what would look best. I've seen the stainless steel and plastic ones, but not the vinyl ones.

Thanks
