HI,

We have just been qutoed £250 to replace the rear brake shoes and rear wheel cylinders. Now only 90 of this is for labour which leaves 160 on parts. Is it me or is this a bit steep?

Was wondering if anyone had experience of these costs before. A look on the internet show much cheaper parts.

Thanks in advance

A.

I was surprised at the cost of rear brake shoes and drums on the Multi,
£80 each side for shoes, and £80 each for drums!
I bought shoes for £30 side and drums for £40 each online though.
However admittedly, I got an annoying thump thump noise at low speed indicating some sort of shoe to drum contact somewhere, ho hum.
The prices do seem way over the top, though.
Good luck.

Mmmm
we had our multi rear drums changed which were £38 each shoes were £33 each cant say how much labour was involved because we had wheel bearing done as well (they were well worn at 110000 miles).
just looked at bill also replaced handbrake cables and adjusters, £400 all in if that helps,
worthwhile checking wheel bearings if taking hubs off!!!!
