Indeed the guide is here.

Parts:-

Rear brake Caliper and frames with pistons and bolts etc.
Brackets to secure the Caliper into the frames/calipers to the car.
Dust covers to stop general dirt getting to the discs aswell as stoping the brake dust going all over
extended brake cable, handbrake cable, otherwise it wont reach the caliper.
HGT/Marea 20v washer to space the unit out.
remember,be patient and take note of where everthing goes so that u can put it all back together.
step1, strip the rear hub completely:

undo the bolt

100_0827.jpg

100_0828.jpg

and take hub off:

100_0829.jpg

strip all shoes and cmponents off

100_0830.jpg

100_0831.jpg

Step 2: take the hub backing plate off, with 2 simple bolts.

now u can start to put the caliper together:

1st what ull need to do is tofit the bracket 1st, then the dust cover and then the caliper, but it would be usefull to get it all as 1 unit so u dont need to take forever putting it back together.

then put all rest on the way u took it off:

and thats it...just need to connect the brake pipes up, will update when its done.

good work mate, does anybody know if its possible to swap posistion of the calliper so instead of it bee where shaun has it put it the other side?

it might have better braking capabilities, i know my mates type R has them that way.

Yeah its wrong way round. Also if its a guide, where is the brake line fitting for the handbrake cables and the brake pipes????

Also a step by step of fitting new discs and pads would be good too, to finish off the guide.

Just look for the two small holes they should be at the top. Its easier to explain that way than going into detail.

This will sound really stupid - but which two holes??

Ash...looking at ur picture it is the wrong way...stillt hough, 1st time at it lol but what difference does it make if the bracket is wrong?

and the brake pipes and that are going to be added on a later date, waiting for some male/male adaptors from my mech. and a new handbrake cable.

Shauns (wrong)

Hence why the calliper is sitting up higher than normal too. Whether its safe or not i dunno. I presume this is what happened to ScottyJTD's Brava when the garage did it.

oh yes i see...now it would make more sense...its just where it sits really..itll all be coming off again then i can fit it correctly and then edit my guide for future users to use.

with it how it is now when you go over speed bumps it will stretch the outer covering of the handbrake cable.

the little holes at the top hold the bracket that holds the solid brake pipe and felxi brake pipe joint still.

I'm glad you remember what you did Ash, because I can't lol :)

Very much looks like the caliper is in the same place that Scotty's mechanic placed his, which from what I gather is wrong.

Have to say since having my rear conversion done there isn't a noticeable difference in performance (if any) but obviously looks easier on the eye than chunky drums! Tbh didn't expect anything else other than an aesthetic improvement.

Looks like you're certainly getting there Shaun!
