I am soon going to be the proud owner of a new 500c with the standard lounge interior trim.

However, please could someone please confirm whether the seats are (half) real leather or not (like the plastic seats on an old marina:D)

I am not bothered either way as I think the seats look great but would be interested to know whether they are genuine or not as the literature does not state??

thanks Emma

I'm fairly sure the seats in the 500c and 500 sport hatchback are leatherette as in fake leather.

I would say Leatherette too. I looked inside a Pink 500C today and the top part of the seat appeared to me to be leatherette.

This is correct- in the sport hatch the seat back, outer sides and bottom are leaterette (though granted it is rather nice), inner sides are quite odd perforated stuff (as are the door trims) and the part where your back and upper legs sit are cloth.

This is one thing that there aren't many photos of one the net iirc. I'd be happy to take some of the standard sport seats if people are interested.

I've got a 500c pop, and the top half of the seats is leatherette, but not cheap and nasty looking or shiny.

Here's a picture of my red and ivory ones.

I realise now I may have been slightly intoxicated when I offered those pictures, and I don't really have any decent photos of the interior as I haven't had the SLR in there, these are the best I could do;

I really do wish sometimes that I could have had the sport but the wife wanting the fixed glass roof just made it a stupid deal to go for the sport.

That said I do like my red leather

Pic for Grimwau :p

Now that everyone has talked about 500C Pop and 500 Sport seats I'll actually answer your question...

The standard upholstery in a 500C Lounge is mostly cloth with fake leather/leather-look plastic/leatherette (whichever you want to call it) side bolsters. The Head Restraints (as with all 500/500C regardless of upholstery) are plastic.

You mean the same stuff as the seats I posted a picture of then.....

Ive scratched a small section, on the side of my seat... what would you use to smooth it out? Thanks

I drive a Sport and the brochure says leather. I would have thought they'd have to state it being synthetic - I've never seen such a statement in the brochure or online configurator. Either way it looks good but feels cheap and nasty in my Sport

I'm pretty sure they say leatherette for the sport.

I stand corrected! I've just checked the website and it doesn't say leather on the Sport it says 'Ambience'.
On the 'leather seat' option the sides and top are not real leather ('Ambience') but the middle bit is classed as leather.
