Well it's been several thousand kilometres now, including some long trips, and I'm happy to say that my re-oiled shocks are still riding and handling as well as the day I did them.
I had some problems getting the screw (and fibre washers) to seal in one shock, think I must have got it threaded-in crookedly. Sure enough, this has leaked gently so that the shock absorber would now not pass a visual inspection. I predict that after six months or so, it might stop working.
Unfortunately the left-front bottom balljoint has now flogged out, perhaps as a result of the slightly stiffer suspension (which is still, by no means, 'stiff'!)
So when I get around to replacing the balljoint ($$$) I shall service the shock absorber as well.
Happy Uno driving in 2005!
