Any ideas on how to fix
Fiat grande punto 1.9 multi jet 2008
100,000 miles on engine.
It's ok generally when driving but if I accelerate just little bit harder it drops off with eml on and loses power
I can turn off and on and it's fine for bit
Then some times it will take 2 or more turning over to start? I have cleaned the egr valve etc no different I tend to sit in slow lane now as worrying about losing power when over taking other than scrapping the car I may go back to petrol car as never had this problem with them? Any help be appreciated thank you

I had a 55 reg 1.9JTD Doblo with 220 K miles approx. loads of black smoke when I got it which in the end turned out to be the poor wiring plug connection on the MAF sensor on air intake after the air filter, another thing I did on that one was the EGR blanking plate which helped, though as yours is a little newer that make throw up error codes.
Another thing that can effect the P0238 code, but shouldn't is a air leak on the intake, this may show up using a smoke test tool.
personally unless forced too I would stay with the diesel vehicles ( five at present) ;)
