Technical rattling

hi, I'm a newbie so bear with me?!?!? having problems with my multipla rattling when accelerating, especially when pulling off in 1st and then in 2nd gear. seems ok 3rd and up. i have a 2001Y JTD ELX. 96k. have looked thru forum for similar problems. have had my roll bar bushes etc replaced in the past and have just had my dual mass flywheel replaced and the gear box stripped (the latter two having cost me £650!). no problems found with the gear box but problem persists. the performance of the car is definitely better since the flywheel was done and the rattling is not so loud or persistent but the rattling is still there?! any ideas please help as i love my car and i have spent too much on it lately to let it go for next to nothing!

Hi and Welcome!!

I suspect the rattling could be one of many different problems !! it could be anything from your suspension to a water pump bearing etc..

do you know roughly where the noise seems to be coming from ??

when it rattles as i pull off it comes from underneath the front nearside near the wheel but as the engine gets warmer it rattles in 2nd gear as well, as i accelerate, and then it seems to move to underneath just behind the driver seat. baffling i know!
