RANT!!! Hellfrauds and Castrol!

Those motherf*cking ar*e raping sh*t eating motherf*ckers!!

Today I decided to give my van an oilchange, I've had the filter sitting on the shelf since the spring and I think the oil was last done in 2001 so its due it now.

Anyway, I KNOW my van needs 10W40 oil and I last used Castrol GTD. So I popped down to hellfrauds and for a laugh looked up my van in their magic book of lies. Their book recomends 0W15 SLX and to change it every 5000 miles!? It also recomended this for EVERY VW diesel from 2004 to 1980's.... Hmmmm..... I picked up a £26 bottle of SLX and gave it a slosh, I think their washer fluid is thicker!

Anyway, found some Castrol GTD, looked at the viscosity and the bastards have changed it to 15W40! They now sell Magnatech 10W40 for £22 a bottle! ARGH!!!!!

So I grabbed 2 bottles of halfords own brand 10W40 and went to pay.

I don't even want to think what damage 0W15 would do to my van engine, Halfords really must sort things like this out as someone will pick the wrong oil and destroy their engine and halfords will be entirely to blame!

0w15 will probably do as much damage as not having an oil change for say 3 years

but i know what you mean, anyone that hasnt a clue about engines would probably go by what that book says and buy it. the book probably has a disclaimer at the front or back of it.

my punto (according to fiat) should use 10w40 BUT halfords book says that for 'optimum protection' 0w40 should be used
