Random window wiping - help please

ok, i know my car is trying to **** me off cause its for sale. New fault developed today.
If i put wipers on intermittent, they are fine. On slow, they are fine. but if i turn them to fast they judder to a halt within an inch. Also, if i flick the stalk up from off, which should do a single wipe, it does nothing at all!

Any ideas?

I already had that whole indicator unit bit replaced not 6 months ago when the headlights wouldn't come on...

don't quote me but that sounds very much like a stalk fault loose wiring/dodgy connectors/contactors.
if it was motor or relay related the other wiper settings wouldnt work.

Thats what i dont want to know, cause i already had the bloody stalks done! also, the garage has changed hands, so i'll have no bloody chance taking it back now!
