I recently swapped my roundnose (04 with 104,000 miles) for an 08 squarenose with 39,000 on the clock from a used car dealer. I've only been driving it for a week but noticed the dreaded rear wheel tilt - indicating radius arm bushes have shot it and yes, I'm kicking myself for not noticing when I bought it. Despite the usual replacements/ repairs on the old roundnose, this was something that she didn't suffer from, probably why I missed it on the new car.
My question is, can I claim on the 3,000 mile warranty I received with the car?
I suspect it's counted as one of the 'excluded' parts detailed on the warranty.
However, the dealer I bought it from had MOT'd the car before sale, surely this would be an MOT issue?
If anyone can help, I would appreciate some advice before I get it sorted at entirely my own cost.

Probably not as most used car warrantees aren't worth the paper they're written on (n)

Unless you can prove it was defective when purchased then I doubt you've much to go on unless its a decent dealer unfortunately :(

Will be worth digging your warrantee docs out though and having a look (y)

Ring them, simple! ;)

As for the MOT, I suspect that any dealer that does MOTs on cars they're selling will be, let's just say, a little lax on the inspection.

My own Multi went through an MOT with the rear wheels leaning, it was only 5 months before I took mine apart and found this . . .

The bearings don't fail overnight, so if they're in a bad state then you should be able to claim, warranty or not, you're still covered by the 'Sale of Goods Act'.
Get them done as soon as possible, so they can't claim they've deteriorated since you bought it.

Thanks for this.
I'm going to get them sorted this week but will take photo's to prove. I will look at 'sale of goods act'. I'm not expecting to get far but worth a try.
