2011 Ducato 2.3 motorhome - why does the radio only work when the key is turned to when the ignition lights are on?

I fixed mine by taking the radio out and joining the red and orange wires together on the multi plug that puts a permernent live on the radio,don't foret to turn off or battery will be flat by morning. Just google the two wires you join together only 90% sure it is red and orange did it a long time ago

because that's how the wiring is set-up..,

as suggested you COULD use a supply that's independent of the ignition.

Thanks - I have never owned a car that had a radio that worked that way. The radio should work on the first notch.
