Technical Radio.

Hi all again, has anyone had the trouble of your radio switching on by its self ? I've just been out again and it was lit up, and it goes from radio to cd and so on any help would be appreciated.

Never heard of it personally.
Original unit, or aftermarket?
Does it have a removable facia?

Does it misbehave when you switch it on yourself (in normal use)?

Hi yes original radio cd, apparently it's the sensor switch when you put in a cd. It has gone faulty and you have to solder the red and black wires to disable it but then the cd wont play, I realised that it started playing up when no cd installed so cd now in till I have the time to sort it, thanks for the reply

Actually it does mis-behave when I switch it on it changes from radio to cd and back ?. Did yours pass mot ok

. . . got the new bushes, put the bulbs in the back, replaced Track-rod end, got it re-tested, all in time to pick up Wifey from work and Daughter from College . . .

As for the Radio issue, I'd use it as an excuse to get a nice shiny new unit

i was looking for an excuse to get another cd player because i've got the original in mine and it's only got to think about going over a bump or over a pot hole for it to skip on the cd and the reception is poo except for bbc radio 2 and smooth which it'll pick up perfectley which i could live with if i was 75yr old....although i feel like it sometimes

No what u mean about reception, I like to keep it original if I can but had enough of jump starts off my next door neighbour, my turn to drive to work next week so need to sort it somehow

Poo(r) reception is likely to be the Aerial, or more precisely, corrosion on the base.
My original Multi's radio failed completely, turned out the base was badly corroded.
Had to fit a screen mount version, which worked fine.

My current Multi has dodgy reception for a while after it's been rained on for any length of time, I'm guessing it's moisture getting into the base area (the forward sunroof leaks too!).

My 54 multi must have a redesigned sun roof no leaks at all not like the old shape car, I used to dread getting in it after a down poor water used to come out of the sunroof switch

Cool how much is the sump as well I bought one online about a month ago and it didn't come hope to get my money back off PayPal, my sump has a horrid repair with chemical metal
