radio reception

hi anyone on here had a problem with radio reception ive got a R reg Bravo 1.8 HLX anyhow i can get radio stations ok but when i drive along the signal keeps disapearing as i turn corners ? it goes and then comes back ive chcked the aerial and that seems tight enough any ideas most welcomed thanx in advance kev

The aerial ok? The plug connected under the courtesy light connected ok?

More than likely the aerial at the back of radio is not firmly on. But since you say its fine then all i can suggest is the above.

Is the aerial not broken on the roof? The aerial is connected from inside the car underneath the courtesy light, behind a metal cap. You may need to remove sunroof motor if you have one. That might of come loose.

thanx j looked under courtesy light and checked connection there seems ok only thing is (and i may be wrong) it don`t look like its earthed anywhere? i remember on wing mounted aerials you had to make sure of a good earth i`ll try that next me thinks then its off with the aerial base itself if that don`t work thanx again kev

I had this problem, only found one solution. I changed the head unit. Since then its been fine.

thanx Emma just changed from a blaupunkt to a sony thinking it might be the head unit but still the same but hey thanx anyways kev

YAY! fixed it, for anybody having similar probs check the aerial lead behind the glovebox, theres a connector there, mine was shite,cut out the said connector joined cables,and it works fine.The cable is not the best i`ve ever seen so next job is to replace it completely.
