General Radio problems

I'm having trouble with the factory radio/CD in my Multi. It switches on and off (in as much as the display lights up and displays the radio station) and I can change channels, but most of the time I get no sound, regardless of volume setting or whether it's 'muted' or not.

Occasionally I do get sound but there doesn't seem to be any predictability to when/what makes it work. Driving home this evening, I suddenly got sound back, but only on the left channel.

I remember reading something a while back about a known fault with the left channel on Multipla stereos, but I can't recall the fix or where I read it.

Any suggestions anyone?

Jon on the Yahoo 'Multipla Owners Group' wrote a fix for something similar. It was some time ago and from memory it required soldering 'dry joints' at the rear of the radio.
