Hi... first can I apologise if this is in the wrong place.. first post and not sure if it goes here or ICE or somewhere else...
Basically I have a FIAT 500 (2017) which came with the 7" Head Unit which struck me as odd given I thought that upgrade was a later addition. I noticed the Uconnect would work and aafter a lot of googling cam to the conclusion the previous owner must have upgrade the head unit and UConnect hadn't been recoded (and now it's no longer an option to do that anyway). Wasn't too bother about that but the Odometer was flashing so I got the MultiECUScan software and cable and managed to solve that with the proxi alignment... Noticed at the same time the VIN was different which I think confirmed my thought re upgrade.. Anyway the DAB tuner wasn;t working - kept giving me an error so it went back to be fixed - they replaced the head unit and although I get no error on the DAB unit it doesn't pick up any DAB stations.
Anyway in the end I decided I would try and put in a new unit with DAB - NAV and in theory car play. It's a second hand unit and is locked. I have tried a couple of the online Radio Code sites and none of the codes provided so far (1112, 2114 (got that one twice)) work. What is odd is that it seems to have only 15 digits in the Serial number after the A2C whereas most seems to have 16 so I am not sure if that is the issue.
any idea IF this is valid (A2C131300110008710) ? I have attached a picture of the back but am concerned I might spend a lot trying different sites but getting non working codes back - is there one anyone can recommend given this 15 digit rather than 16 digit thing ?
Also I will be adding a separate GPS receiver (as the current aerial doesn't have that) and although I am pretty sure it will connect to the blue connector on the back of the radio I notice there is also a Grey connector - wondered if anyone knew what that was for ? I have attached photo of the back - the grey (far right) and the whit (Slightly cut off far left) are a like for like swap with the current unit and I plan to connect the GPS receiver to the blue but it made me think what is the Grey for ?
Also (Sorry I know it's a lot of questions !) but does anyone know what the differences are between the various Continental model variants ?
I have seen
VP2 EMEA DAB NAV,
VP2 ECE DAB NAV
Some specifically say w/o Car play (I can work that one out
)
But some have GPS - what's that is not NAV ?
Oh and the prefix before - mine says 312 - what does that relate to ?
If anyone can help with any of these then thanks in advance and if I have put this in the wrong place please accept my apologies.
