I have just changed the rad on my Stilo, the extention peice (drivers side) was an arse to get off.The metal clip broke,i have connected the pipe directly to the rad now with a jubille clip. Will this hold is it ok?...

The passenger side top extension came off fine and went back on with metal clip intact.Should i take this off and connect directly like the other?

If I do need the extention on the bottom drivers side does anyone know if i can buy one of those metal clips, the extention is intact.

Many thanks for all your help.

Hah I've been there before :p The day after I got my Stilo I decided to try and clean the engine bay and when I went to clean one of the coolant hoses I snapped it off at the radiator!

I took it down to my local garage who told me that Fiat don't do just the clip or whatever but you need the whole hose etc, so the lads just done what they could and put a jubilee on it, 16 months later I've still not had a problem :)

was the extension bit hard plastic or soft rubber in which a jubilee clip will work, but not on hard plastic?

Hard plastic! We have filled her up with coolant and she aint leaking from the hose/jubille.Had her running for quite a while.Have you found that as soon as you say Stilo the price at garages/part centres goes through the roof?

take note it will pop as hard plastic cant tighten with a hose clip.,carry a gallon of water for emergency.its the pressure that will blow it.:bang:

We aint put the extension on, just conected the hose to the rad with a jubille.Hose not streched though.Thought that would be better then putting it on without the clip cos of the pressure build up.

ah ok if there is sufficient neck on rad and maybe a lip you should be ok,it can be a sharp edge for rubber pipe if doing a noddy ,cut from inside while engine flexes(y)
