I have a 1996 Fiat Uno 1.1 2-door. The radiator fan suddenly stopped working. It used to kick in when the temperature gauge needle passed the halfway mark. Does anyone know what to check for? I've read that a possible solution is to remove the coolant temperature sensor which would cause the fan to spin constantly? But I don't know where to look for it.

Do you have coolant?

With the ignition turned off, does the fan spin easily by hand, or is it stiff and graunchy?

If the fan spins, is the fuse intact?

If all above checks out, remove the connection from the fan temp sender in the radiator. use an open paperclip to bridge the connections and switch the ignition on.

Does fan run?

Does the paperclip glow?

Report back please.
