Radiator fan not turning on?

Hey there, I am having a problem with my Fiat Brava 1.4 SX 1998.

First, the temperature needle was creeping into the red, so a guy looked at it for me, and bled the coolant system out, sooooo much air was coming out it was insane. And now the fan won't work...

But what I have done is un-plugged it from the radiator plug thing, and stuck a wire into each end of the plug to test if the fan is broken, which it isn't, the fan works brilliantly, but now its on constantly because of the wire in the plug.

So I was wondering, what do I need to replace? Is it the other end of the fan plug thing?

Would I need this? Or something else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

aup mate

that sensor u got up there would be for the ecu.

if look where u unplugged the last plug when you bridged it out (to check if your fan was working), then there should be a thermostatic switch and thats the 1 u want to replace!!

i had ALOT of trouble with my old hgt engine overheating ad i ended up buying a third sensor and that cured it lol

good luck

A third sensor!!! wow :O

At least it sorted it though, lol.

Thx a lot for your help man, greatly appreciated!

Sorry I forgot to ask, does anyone know where I can find a cheap one? Or how much they are roughly?

And is it a fairly straight forward job to replace the thermostat? Any advice would be awesome!

Thanks

Martin
