Hello,
The entire three years I have had my 1.6 5dr Stilo Active the engine would overheat when idling. I have always assumed this was due to the fan not working.
Fed up, I did some research (largely indebted to this forum) and I looked under the bonnet to find a 50 amp fuse in the F06 (low speed fan), no fuse in F07 (high speed fan), no relay in T06 (low speed fan) and no relay in T07 (high speed fan).
I replaced the 50 amp fuse in F06 with a new 30 amp fuse, as this is the recommended rating. This was all I could do at the time as I didn't have the other parts... But hey presto, no more overheating! To say I'm confused is an understatement.
Is there any possibility that the relay diagram on the battery cover is wrong? How could I have fixed the problem? Should I still buy the missing relays?
Many thanks in advance.
Ash.
