I recently rimmed my front passenger side alloy wheel against a kerb, just the rim, not the actual spokes. They are the 16" multispokes.
I contacted an on-line alloy-wheel specialist, who also does alloy wheel refurbs/repairs, and he has quoted me £45 plus VAT to repair, provided the paint on the alloy is a standard silver paint.
Does anyone know if the 16" multispoke alloys are a "standard silver paint", or if they are a special paint finish? To be honest, I'm not sure what he means by 'standard silver paint'. Are alloy wheels normally lacquered as well, and if so, is that standard?
Also, £45 plus VAT sounds reasonable to me, although I might phone the dealer tomorrow and find out what they would charge. I'm guessing it'd be more than £45 plus VAT.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
