Hi all
Should be taking delivery of my Vibe active sub(with built in amp) at some point this week.
Would I be best using a 4 guage live on this setup?
Also does the earth need to be a 4 guage too?

cheers
Peter

Cheers Tom
I think the existing cable is from a 360w max kit I installed when i rigged up my current 2 ch amp.
I think thats a 10 guage-that would be OK then? And no need to up the earth?

Cheers
Peter

It might do, the watt rating system they use for cheap wiring kits is really quite meaningless, especially when they say 'MAX'.

If the vibe box has a higher fuse rating than the fuse in your wiring kit you will need to upgrade the wiring.

vibe

yeah a cheap wiring kit will be ok for that as all thow the sub can take hundreds the small amp on bored runs about half what the sub can take and yes the earth needs to be the same size as the positive as other wise it will build up charge and damage the unit

Re: vibe

charge buildup, now thats a new one ;)

If your earth cable is 2ft long and your power cable is 8ft long then the earth cable has 4x less resistance than the power cable. So it could be smaller and still have less resistance.

But you won't get charge buildup :)

Will I get away with just swapping the live for the 8 guauge and matching earth only leaving the existing phonos and remote on from the previous instal as they are or will I have to change the whole wiring kit as supplied..?

thanks a lot
Pete
