hi guys not sure if this is in the correct part of the forum but i have a question

i ordered a fiat just before xmas, and i contacted my dealer last week to find out if he had any news and he replied that the fiat site was down until thursday but he let me know when its back up

ive still heard nothing, now my question is.....is it usual to have to keep chasing the dealer???

i get the impression hes not happy with the deal i got, and thus im just concerned with my order, ive never got any paperwork saying the order has been placed....is that normal???

i just feel he should have emailed me even if he had no news, but ive heard nothing from him, i dont want keep emailing him if this is how its usually done....ps ive never ordered a brand new car before so dont know how it works

thanks in advance

Hi

Unfortunately my personal experiences of Fiat dealers and ordering new cars are not much better.

Having bought "other makes" new as well, I can say that it is not common for all makes but Fiat seem to make a habit of it.

I ordered a Tjet with (then) optional cruise and was told a delivery date of 1st March 08. Close to the day I hadn't heard from them so contacted them only to be told that my car was "trapped at the docks". (n)(n) Absolute BS:bang: In their showroom was another Tjet, the same colour but no cruise. I suspect they had ordered then wrong car.
Then I was informed that the 3 year 0% finance was off and it was now four years. After a few phone calls to other dealers of the same group I found this was BS as well.

The last GP I bought in 2012 was much the same as you - chasing to get a delivery date so I could arange insurance and how to pick it up etc.

When I did get told it had arrived I went to look at it and was saw that the wrong number plates were on the car:rolleyes:
I was informed it wasn't my car as they "had a few going out that day all the same". Problem was my Easy was specced with cruise and there aren't many of those. So I informed the sales person of their lie and walked out.

Sorry I can't be more positive of buying a new Fiat - maybe others will come along soon and inspire you with tales of good service and excellent customer care.

oh dear not good experience, ive got a feeling im going to go thro something similar :(

ive got a feeling hes stalling for the next privilege scheme which will be out end jan

good news, just been told my car has been built and being shipped out of Italy and should be here by the end of the month

I think it's sad that in this day and age when dealers are fighting for every sale, even BMW are having to try harder, FIAT dealers can't even get the sales process right.

When my Mum bought her first Toyota a few years ago, not only did the dealer give her a bouquet of flowers when they went to collect it, the dealer even collected and delivered it back for the first service. When it went in every year they would either supply tea, coffee and biscuits or give my Mum a lift into the town centre and pick her up again later.

By and large, Japanese dealers give some of the highest customer service in the industry. This could be just down to better training, but then I think all the manufacturers offer that; I've certainly been on a couple of Ford courses over the years. Or it could just be that Japanese dealers are more careful who they employ.

Oh, nearly forgot. Enjoy your new car and let's hope you enjoy your time on here as well.
