Hi Wolvesdelivery, Welcome to the wonderful world of the Qubist/Fiorinoist, great little cars/vans. Enjoy yours, and any questions post them up on here and no doubt one of us will get back to you.......
Cheers Qube O.

Funny you should say that Qube O...
As I'm trying to find answers to a clunk/knock from the front at slow speed turning and been told it's a common fault, suspension mounting bolt area?
Have you or anyone had to deal with this & any advice on a fix please?

Wolvesdelivery,
Front suspension top bearings, common fault, had mine replaced, both sides under warranty.....if you do a search on here you will find lots of info on this problem. Its all down to design fault, and quality of original parts......
Cheers Qube O.

Evening, it seems I have the dreaded "front top mount" issue's but before I order bit's, can the more knowledgeable amongst you, confirm this is the reason for my "knocks & clunks" when turning at slow speed.. please?

it's often related to a sticky bearing.. the clunks are the spring twisting in "lumps",
:idea:get an assistant to turn steering , see if the spring does indeed judder..,

DPF related oil change issues are the biggest PIA with a modern diesel ..,

Does the spring really twist when turning? Surely it's the hub that does the moving on the stub axle and the spring sits in a Y-mount yoke tied to the chassis?

Just a guess based on what I've seen of cars in general..uncorroborated on my Fiat!

it's not designed to twist.. but once the top bearing gets sticky,
it has no option when to lower half rotates with the steering;)

I actually stripped and lubed a Punto set last weekend,
made a big difference.

I cannot see how you get "Knocks" whilst driving at speed though:confused:
that smacks of a loose / failed component(n)

Cheers all & yes, it sounds exactly like the springs twisting & I've bought top mounts from eurocarparts, £40 all in for both... BARGAIN!
My next question is, how urgently should I think about getting the job done & what damage am I doing in the meantime or is it just a "noise" thing?

Probably no great panic to get them changed, but wouldn't leave it longer than you have to. More strain on the springs, etc, the longer it goes on, and Qubo springs have been known to break, both of mine ! Hope the bearings you got are the newer type with the thick rubber membrane on the top to stop the ingress of water, which gets into these bearings from the top end, not the bottom up, which is more normal. Its a design fault, hence Fiat covering the cost for a lot of them/us.
Cheers Qube O.
