If you do opt for using laminated glass, it might be a good idea to have a glass supplier do the cutting, you can then have them carry out a glass arrissing, pencil grinding or pencil polishing process on the glass edges to improve the appearance and for safety reasons. It's important to smooth the edges as cut edges are extremely sharp/dangerous.

When cutting laminated glass, you'll need to score both sides of the glass directly opposite each other, then snap and cut the plastic interlayer -windscreen re-sizers use either a small amount of ethyl alcohol which they set on fire to cut the plastic layer or else a propane torch.
There are videos on YouTube that show how this done.

I’m with the first option! Make a template or pattern from cardboard or ply and get them supplier to cut it.
The rear quarter glass sits in a perimeter seal so good idea to remove the sharp edges!
