I think you could try with the usual jobs...enlarged carburettor, cotton air filter or a complete induction kit, new camshaft,i.e. a C&B one...they're fine[8D]
heloo! Iam Dario from croatia an i have same problem as you, but i have fiat tempra 1.6 with BMC filter, but I want to make beast of car so I plan to put engine from some lancia, maybe from integrale or...., I will put pictures of my car soon as posible. You can visit my web site if you want: www.fiat-tuning.tk
Thanks for the reply! It seems that maybe the best solution to more horsepower is actually changing the engine. I've been looking at diferent engines from the Fiat group (Fiat and Lancia). I've been told that a Alfa engine is to complicated to fit in a Fiat due to engine fixing points. Possible engines to fit in a Tempra:
- Fiat Coupé 2.0 20v Turbo (220 bhp)
- Lancia Thema 2.0 16v Turbo (180 bhp)
- Lancia Delta Integrale
The only "changes" my car's engine has right now is a cotton air filter from Sparco, Bosch Super 4 spark plugs and a exhaust from Remus. All the rest is standard.
The usual mods are a cotton air filter (you can really notice the diference in the engine behaviour and particulary in the engine sound ). Try some performance spark plugs and a sport exhaust system. This will all give you some extra horsepower without any risk, and you can fit it yourself!
The ultimate change would be fitting a new engine. I almost succeeded in getting a Ferrari engine from a Lancia Thema 8.32, but unfortunatly the engine had two broken pistons . The guy was willing to sell the whole car for 75 Euros!!!
hey guys and gals, i got a tipo 1.4 with a K reg. tempra 1.4 engine, does anyone know wot the timing is supposed 2 b set at as the tipo 1.4 is meant 2 b set at 10 degrees......
