my superchip has been out of the car since it was sidelined for two months, i want to put it back seeing as I'm paying insurance for it (hmm is my insurance invalid for declaring a mod I don't have?)
My guess at proceedure would be to remove the neg lead from the battery, unclip the ecu housing, unplug the ecu, prise open the little metal flanges, remove OEM chip, put in new chip and stick it all back together.
Am I right or totally off course?

No, I think the best way of doing it would be to pop it in an envelope, with my address and a stamp on it, and the put that in a post box. ;P

Seriously I think Superchips are all non-solderable so it should be an easy pop old one out, push new one in (remember the mark on the superchip should be the same way up as on the original etc)

thanks I guess it just like changing a PC cpu, just wondering if there were any special proceedures/precautions, not a job I'd like to go wrong :)

If ever you hear thunka-thunka-thunka from your front wheel, pull over; you may well find you have only two wheel nuts left and both of those are probably loose! Not that that has ever happened to me, honest!

thanks for that Tom, and to think I'd been sitting here in me nylons scratching me nuts trying to get this right :)

LOL!

Seriously though, just make sure all the pins are lined up before you push the chip in, its all to easy to bend one and snap it off.

all done and dusted, thanks guys.

What's the verdict on the superchip?

Any really obvious benefit or does it just make a general improvement to driving?

makes it a little less flat 3-4k revs and added 9bhp according to a dyno i had done way back, tbh apart from the increased pull at 3-4k I don't notice it much, although the figs show a nice improvement in torque too
