Punto MK2 Airbag Light After Changing Steering Wheel.

hi all.
so im thinking of changing the crappy punto mk2 steering wheel for a little more sporty one, and want to know will the airbag light show on the dash? how could this be fixed because i know its an MOT failure, is there any sort of wiring that could do it? many thanks...

Yes the air bag light will show, yes it will be an MOT failure, and finally there is no point removing the airbag because just removing it will also be an MOT failure under the new rules as the car came originally fitted with it,
