Had the red warning light come on for the CVT box, eventually traced the problem to a dodgy connection in the plug on the electronic speed sensor. Is it me or are these plugs impossible to repair.

Anyway i'd like to pick the orange plug in the photo up from a breakers, but not many selectas about. Just wondering if anyone knows if this sensor is used on any of the other fiat models?

Hi Jon,

I'm often in Sarf London - which scrappy do you use?

If you spot a selecta, the plug is just underneath the battery. You can see it without taking the battery out, but not sure if you'd get it out without taking the holder out of the way.

thanks matey..

is the punto selecta box the same as the panda box out of curiosity? I was hoping they'd used the same sensor on later gearboxes like maybe a seicento or whatever. I imagine that a lot of new gearboxes don't have gear driven speedos anymore. But i'm guessing, and maybe thats not the case.

Cant be 100% but that connector looks very similar as the connector used in the early crash warning sensor on a Stilo.

If your looking any stilo's the sensor is just below the bonnet catch and plugs into a little grey box mounted in the bodywork.
