Technical Punto Mk1 Engine Help

hi all,

I just had my car serviced and apart from the big oily footprint on my mat and the battery cover missing I also noticed this hose looks a bit crumbled.

Can anyone tell me what it is for and how urgent it is to replace it/fix it?

puts hot air in on very cold days unimportant most never replace it

thanks dave, the weapon has done 27k miles but I am about to embark on a 400 mile drive in it so worried something goes wrong

That's not going to make any difference. Many folk remove them altogether.

To avoid oily footprints, DIY service. There are no easier cars to work on.
