Styling Punto mk1 de cat

Hi,
Im just wondering how i would go about making my own decat pipe i know it will fail its m.o.t but im just wondering could i make one using a spare cat pipe i have?

I'm doing mine tomorrow mate, I work in an exhaust place and as far as I know it's just a straight bit off pipe from the centre box to the downpipe. I'll let you know of any advantages/disadvantages
