punto mk2 problem with lights
Hi I am hoping someone can help,a few weeks ago a friend fitted me a new fuel pump,as soon as I used the car again I realised the indicators weren't working properly so I changed the bulbs now my brake lights stay on until I break and my indicators are not right and I can't use my lights, also my rear wiper has stopped working!!

can anybody please advise? I can't use my car in the dark or the rain!!:(

sounds like a very bad earth, first i would try and have the fuses checked, if they dont work. he has obviously not plugged something back in properly.

go back to him and get him to recheck everything, (at no cost)

if he cant fix it, go to a fiat garage and sent the bill to him,

or pour brake fluid all over the paintwork of his car, if its a dealer, pour brake fluid over every car, 1 at a time untill he fixes the porblem for you

hope this helps

Yep, sounds like a fantom Fiat earth. Could have been caused by the work of just be coinsodence.

If you have a haynes manual check where the earthing points for the rear lights are and clean them(y)

Not that hard a job, I don't know exactly where they are on the Punto, but are probably under the rear light clusters somewhere.

Jon.

Under the carpet covering the 'lip' of the boot, passenger side (y)

Thats also the earth for the rear wiper motor, so I think that will be it.
