Hi all,

I need some advice please, my wife has a 2012 Fiat Punto and we’ve noticed a water leak coming from the floor tunnel when the engine is running. I’ve got underneath it and sure enough there is what seems to be a overflow pipe coming out of the central floor tunnel that leaks when the engine is running! This would kind of be inline where the dashboard is.
Any ideas what this is? I’ve checked the coolant level and it’s not low

If the "leak" happens when air con on then it is likely to be condensation from the evaporator (the cold bit) inside the car.

Yes air was on when I checked it, can't believe I've not noticed this before.
Thanks, I'll check it with the air con off

Coolant on the carpet and windows covered in oily/sticky "mist" = heater matrix.
Water in the central part of the cabin + using A/C = drain from A/C clogged.
Water on the sides (close to the doors) = door seals.
Check also main drains between the windscreen and firewall/engine bay. There is an air intake to the cabin.
Water in the trunk/boot = lamps (central and/or L/R) or door seal or rear wiper.

Standard automotive problems. No reason to be "baffled"...

There's no water in the car. This is a drip from a plastic outlet pipe sticking out the bottom of the floor tunnel.
Just never seen an outlet pipe for condensation in this location.
We've had the boot full of water saga a few years ago, fairly easy fix.

You've never seen a small water puddle under the (middle of the) car in the hot summer time (+A/C in use)?
OK...

What else... Have you seen a water dripping from the exhaust pipe? That's normal (acceptable under specific conditions) too.
