hey, am 18yrs 4months old and at the min im driving a 1.2 8v but want to sell that short into the new year and get a GT. anyone on here 18 and drive a GT?!?! if so what are you paying on your policy?! obviously its only going to be TPFT and possibly under my mums name. Thanx

When I was 19 I had a 18yr old friend with a GT TPFT cost him £2000 a yr on with his mum as the main driver and that is in a low risk post code. Forget it my friend until your matured. I've found my premiums halved when I turned 20! I can now insure a GT £740 in my own name with 0 ncb TPFT :D. Not only that finding a decent GT is an art and very hard to do!.

If you have the money look for something like a mk2b Sporting (1.4 16v) decent performance but only a group 6 / 7. And I know you may not like diesels but like it or not they are great performance and way cheaper to insure for young drivers. £470 a yr fully comp for my 1.9 JTD 130bhp.

Doesnt help that people dont want to pay the money and get put off by high mileage, they also expect to much.

Ive spend loads on mine and its had a rebuild with new larger fiat pistons etc its got full service history, hpi clear, people still get put off because its on 97k miles, Its 8 years old for god sake.

97k for 8yrs old is a good milage. And and long as its been serviced properly it will be good for at least another 100k (y).

As for fiesta zetec s I used to p**s over one near me in my old 1.4 Sporting I also raced a Quicksilver and it was a pretty even match he had induction and back box mine was standard.
