punto grande odometer problems

Guys,I have a 2007 1.2 punto grande.
Only got 31k on it and runs perfect. However, my odometer has stopped working on the dash. The petrol, revs, speedo and backlights all work fine, but the little digital screen that tells you time and mileage no longer shows any digits, but still lights up Orange.

Has anyone else experienced this? I have no problem buying a used clock with similar miles and putting in, but someone has told me to do this I will need a new immoboliser and keys etc?

Any advice would be a God send right about now

Well this thread might be passed its sell by date not it is the connection to the LCD display.
If you take the perspex off and push the plastics below the display...it will come on.

If you take the whole clock unit, ie all clocks at once complete with surround, and unplug it. Take the plastic back off and you see the back of the circuit board, there are 4steel lugs which hold the display in place, twist them to tighten the connection.

You don't need the odo for the MOT, they just write odo unreadable.
